Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 October 2026 · Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act 2023 Notice

At cheapest.wtf (“we”, “us”, or “our”), we believe privacy is fundamental. We operate as a guest-first, transparent price comparison platform designed to help consumers in India and globally find the lowest legitimate price across verified merchants and service providers.

This Privacy Notice outlines how we handle data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) of India, the Information Technology Act, 2000, and applicable international data protection standards.

Key Privacy Commitments

  • No Login Wall / Guest-First: You can browse, search, and compare prices without creating an account or providing your name, phone number, or email.
  • Zero Sensitive Financial Data: We never collect, process, or store PAN numbers, Aadhaar details, credit card numbers, CVVs, or net banking credentials.
  • No Data Brokering: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to data brokers or third-party telemarketers.
  • Transparent Attribution: When you click an external merchant link, only an anonymous referral click identifier is used for conversion measurement.

1. Data We Collect and Why (Purpose Specification)

Under Section 5 and 6 of the DPDP Act 2023, data processing must be limited to specific, lawful purposes. We process only the minimum technical data necessary to operate our comparison services:

a) Technical and Log Data (Legitimate Uses)

When you access cheapest.wtf, our edge servers (Cloudflare Workers) automatically log standard technical information, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, timestamp, and requested pages. Purpose: Maintaining platform security, DDoS mitigation, rate limiting, and technical troubleshooting. Server logs are automatically purged on a rolling retention schedule.

b) Outbound Referral Click Identifiers (Attribution Data)

When you click on an offer to visit a merchant (via /go/[offerId]), we generate a pseudonymous, random click identifier (click_id). This identifier contains zero personally identifiable information. Purpose: Verifying referral validity with affiliate networks and tracking commission attribution.

c) Search and Comparison Queries

Queries entered into our search bar or AI assistant are processed ephemerally to return relevant product, travel, or card results. These queries are aggregated anonymously to monitor search quality and catalog coverage.

2. Legal Basis for Processing under the DPDP Act 2023

We process personal data solely on the following grounds recognized under the DPDP Act:

  • Consent (Section 6): Where you explicitly submit data (such as requesting price alerts or contacting support).
  • Certain Legitimate Uses (Section 7): Necessary processing for system integrity, cyber security incident prevention, and fulfilling user-requested actions (such as routing you to an external merchant).

3. Third-Party Merchants and External Links

cheapest.wtf displays links to third-party stores, airlines, hotels, banks, and software providers. When you click an outbound link and leave cheapest.wtf, you are subject to that merchant’s own terms and privacy policy. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of external merchants. We encourage you to inspect the privacy terms of any third-party provider before completing transactions.

4. Rights of Data Principals (Your Legal Rights)

Under Chapter III of the DPDP Act 2023, you have enforceable legal rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access Information (Section 11): Right to obtain confirmation of whether your personal data is being processed, a summary of data processed, and identities of third parties with whom it has been shared.
  • Right to Correction and Erasure (Section 12): Right to request correction of inaccurate or misleading data, completion of incomplete data, and erasure of personal data that is no longer necessary.
  • Right of Grievance Redressal (Section 13): Right to have your complaints addressed through an established grievance mechanism.
  • Right to Nominate (Section 14): Right to nominate another individual who shall exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.

5. Data Security and Storage

In accordance with Section 8(5) of the DPDP Act, we implement reasonable technical and organizational security safeguards to prevent personal data breaches. All communications between your browser and our platform are encrypted in transit via TLS 1.3. Infrastructure access is restricted using strict role-based access control and token-based authentication.

6. Children’s Privacy (Section 9 Compliance)

cheapest.wtf is intended for general audiences of legal age to enter contracts. We do not knowingly process personal data belonging to minors (individuals under 18 years of age) nor do we engage in targeted advertising or behavioral tracking directed at children.

7. Grievance Officer & Contact Information

In accordance with Section 13 of the DPDP Act 2023 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we have designated a Grievance Redressal Officer to resolve any queries or grievances:

Designation: Grievance Redressal Officer & Data Protection Lead

Entity: cheapest.wtf

Email: grievance@cheapest.wtf

Response SLA: Acknowledgment within 48 hours; resolution within 30 days

Jurisdiction: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

If you remain dissatisfied after exhausting our internal grievance redressal mechanism, you have the right under Section 13(3) of the DPDP Act to submit a complaint directly to the Data Protection Board of India (DPBI).
